The Ride Continues

McKenzie slept better than last night, but still woke up a number of times to cough and then sing her short mornful song before nodding off again.

So far today has not met with the highs of yesterday, but not decended into the lows of previous days. She has played a little, but we still yearn to see the happy-go-lucky baby we know she is. She fights with the spirit of a wildcat whenever one nurse or another is doing something she doesn't like, and I applaud her even as I fight alongside the healthcare workers to keep her steady. But she is not herself, and will not be until she is home again.

Recent X-rays show the congestion to be a little better than before, but she still has to contend with inflamed broncial tubes. Her breathing treatment has been adjusted to once every 2 hours as opposed to 4, and she has been moved back into the PICU. The purpose of this move is not due to regression on her part, but to make sure she gets the neccessary attention so that she does improve.

Sounds like such an improvement to go to only one breathing treatment every two hours. Way to go Izzy!

Praying her breathing treatments help to improve her bronchial tubes. Will keep praying and praying for little McKenzie.
