All Clear

We saw the general surgeon today (fixed her little bottom in July). McKenzie is all clear from his standpoint and need not come back for 6 months. That is a relief. It is nice to cut back on the doctors' appointments. He was very impressed with how well McKenzie is doing, how strong and big she is getting. Unfortunately, she only weighed in at 14lbs 14 oz. That is where she was before the adenovirus hit in November. I guess I should be happy that she gained all the weight back in about a month. Dale and I both thought she had gotten so much bigger. She has been eating like a champion and on top of all the formula she is getting, she is also eating solids. She loves them. She gets upset if she is with us at a meal and not giving her "real" food too.

Our next appointment is with the cardiologist next week. That is the real scary one. She told me that appointment would be used to set up Izzy's next cath and to determine how quickly her surgery will be. Since Izzy is not growing as fast as hoped, it is possible everything will be pushed out a couple of months, but the plan since August was that her surgery would be in March. Keep your fingers crossed. (I don't know which one I'm hoping for---surgery now or later---but keep your fingers crossed that the best choice is made.)

It's so good to hear that everything is going so much better for all of you, Mel. We continue to pray for all, for strength and know that all will go well. God is looking after McKenzie for sure! Take just one day at a time and know that cardiologists are awesome...they know what they're doing, trust me :o) The best choice WILL be made, just know it!!
Lots of love, Aunt Char
ps...the Angel of Faith was for McKenzie but also for you and Dale, write your fears on a little piece of paper and put them inside her holder and in one year, open the box and read them. You'll be surprised at how many of them passed by without a hitch. Faith is what it's all about....xoxoxo

Melonie, our Sara was 18 lbs at a year. Your little one isn't that far behind, she's almost 15 lbs and only 10 months old. You have to remember that little Sara had a 5'7" mom and Izzy has slightly shorter you. Maybe she's just going to be a smaller person! I'm sure she's just fine!!

Izzy is a miracle baby. God is watching out for her. Know that the surgeons will make the best choice for your precious little one. We continue to keep her in our thoughts and prayers daily. Love to you all! Aunt Liz & Uncle Ken
P.S. A little vitamin C to keep her healthy

Hey, thanks for stopping in on my page and leaving me a note! McKenzie is a cutie and it sounds like she's been through quite a bit, and come out a fighter on the other side! I will be thinking of you guys as surgery approaches! Laura and Lily

Less doctors appointments is always a good thing!
Sending Izzy some junk food so she gains some weight.
Keeping our fingers crossed that the choice (surgery now- or surgery later) is the best one for Izzy.
