McKenzie is still stable and is exceedingly slowly being weaned
off of her oxygen/nitrogen mixture. Hopefully, she will be off of
it completely and breathing room air by the end of the weekend.
After that, we only have to heal her little bottom. McKenzie has had the worst diaper rash ever for the last several weeks. Actually, you can't call it a rash, but it is open wounds on her bottom. The doctors are more concerned about that than her breathing and oxygen saturation. The wound care specialists have been working with us and she has had some improvement, but still open sores that bleed when we change her. The surgeons have finally been brought in to see if they have further suggestions for fixing her last major issue. We hope that will be soon!
