A New Record!

We met with the nutritionist this morning and McKenzie was 12 pounds without any diaper, which means she gained 1/2 a pound in 8 days! She hasn't done that since the feeding tube was removed. She is actually taking in more calories than is necessary for a regular baby, but also expending a lot more engery in eating. We are so excited about this development. She has actually been eating between 19 and 21 ounces of 27-calorie formula a day. The nutritionist agrees that Izzy is small, but that is not surprising considering her genes and her cardiac condition, but mostly her genes. We don't know where Phin got his height!

Another new development is McKenzie's activity level. She has gained leaps and bounds in the tummy time arena and I have high hopes that she will roll over for the first time this weekend. Yes, it will be a couple of months late, but expected due to her long hospitalization. We will keep everyone posted.

It is great to hear of McKenzie's progress. She is doing great!!! Serena didn't care much for tummy time until she was close to six months. We have friends with babies who didn't really start rolling over to closer to 10 months. You are doing great with her. She looks so happy and strong.

Woohoo!! That's awesome! I know it's because she finally got to see her Aunt Courtney again last weekend :)
