I read an entry on another Carepage that reminded me I should
inform of some of the changes to Izzy's page. With the "upgrade" to
Carepages, Izzy's page is no longer accessible to everyone. In
order to access the page, you must have visited before the change
or you must be invited by myself or Dale. So, if someone wants
access and can't get it, let either of us know their email address
and we will send an invite. You should also know that if you want
to view messages, they are now attached to the updates so that we
can read them in context. Unfortunately, the photo album now at the
bottom and it shows the earliest pictures rather than the latest,
so if you want to see what Izzy looks like now, rather than when
she was in utero, you'll need to click on the photo album and page
through. Lastly, they have taken my ability to put hard returns
between paragraphs, so I apologize when I ramble that you may get
lost in all of the words!
As for an actual update, day care reopened this week and the kids have returned. They are doing really well. Unfortunately, it has made us realize how developementally behind Mckenzie is because another baby started this week also. She is about 1.5 months younger than McKenzie (3 months old), but bigger and stronger. We even had a gentalman ask us this past weekend if McKenzie was 1-week-old. Now we know she is small, but she was holding up her head and checking everything out, so she obviously couldn't look only 1-week-old, but much younger than she is. I know they say that we have to subtract the amount of time she spent in the hospital to get to proper developmental time (that would put her at 2.5 months, which is about where she is). It is just hard to think that way because I've been able to hug her for 4.5 months now. Luckily, the State of Michigan has a program set up to help kids as young as McKenzie who are developementally behind catch up. We will be meeting with a county nurse and professionals from the school district in the next couple of months to work out a program to help McKenzie catch up and continue to grow.
