Today was the top of the roller coaster, hands in the air! After yesterday, Dale and I arrived expecting the absolute worst, but were amazingly surprised to find McKenzie's ventilater had been removed! Last night was rough for her and she pulled out her IV twice, so after replacing it, they took a blood gas and found her oxygen levels too high. To get her back where they wanted her, the nurse took her off of the ventilater and she did great!

We were able to hold her for much of the day and we were able to hear her scream. It was the most beautiful sound. She was also able to enjoy a pacifier and can now pull it in and out of her mouth when she has control over her hands. It was an amazing day.

Our hope is that she remains this stable until Monday's surgery. Until then, we continue to ride the roller coaster and hope the lowest and slowest points have already been hit, but know there are probably many more to come (along with a lot more hills).

God Bless your miracle from God
This is just a message to let you know that prayers for McKenzie have been lifted up from my congregation at Faith Christian Community Church in Port Huron MI and also from California where I have other family members. God truly is at work in your family and I thank Him for being there for you. May He keep His loving arms around you and your family at this time of need.
Respectfully, Anita (aunt Joanne's friend)
