Heart Healthy

The cardiologist gave us the all clear for 3 to 4 months and took Izzy totally off the amiodorone, cut down the lasix to once per day, and said the digoxin can be removed in a month if all goes well. Izzy's next appointment will be around January to plan for her "full-fix" surgery. At least that is the plan. Dr. Cutler was not happy with how quickly McKenzie is growing. She wants us to fatten her up. If only we knew how! Izzy weighs about 13.5 pounds now and is 24.5 inches long. She is in the 3rd percentile for her age. Three months ago, she had been in the 10th percentile. That could have been residue from the feeding tube or she could be slowing down. We don't really know.

But, Dr. Cutler said the surgery may need to be post-poned if she hasn't grown. It all really depends on her sat levels. For the last two months they have been sitting around 85%. If they are still at 85% in February/March, the surgery may be put off.

McKenzie had her first overnight with Ma and Papa last night. She was very good and my mom was very happy to have both kids. Mom was yawning a lot when she dropped off the kids though! Dale and I got to sleep from 9:30 until 7:30 without one crying child and no forcing a baby to eat! It was great!

There are some new pics in the gallery, including pics from last weekend's trip to New York for Sebastian's 5th birthday party. We have posted the best one with all of the kids.
