People have been asking, so I thought that I should update. Izzy
did remarkably well with this pneumonia. Early Monday morning, she
felt yucky and her lungs hurt and she wouldn't eat a thing.
But, by mid-morning, she was happy and playing with her daddy. She acted completely fine. On Tuesday, Izzy returned to school where she was in her school's Halloween parade. She had a wonderful time showing off her Minnie Mouse costume and getting candy!
Wednesday, she went back to school again, decorated cookies (gluten free of course), and then went trick or treating with her brother (and mommy, daddy, and Ma, while Papa gave out candy)!
Izzy loved trick or treating! As soon as she said thank you for a piece of candy, she'd turn to us and say "Let's do 'nother!" When she got tired, we put her in a stroller and she enjoyed that as well, especially when I had to run while pushing her because of the rain. She squealed with delight that we were going faster than "Lightening [McQueen, the race car]!" She ended the night handing out candy and was just as excited doing that. She was giving out giant hand-fulls to the kids! Slowly, Izzy has been able to reduce the number of extra breathing treatments needed. She did complain of chest pain this morning, but she played very hard yesterday, so that could simply be residual pain either from the pneumonia or her underlying lung disease and her lungs unable to keep up with yesterday's fun (playing with cousins). Izzy sees her primary care doctor tomorrow for a follow up, but I'm hopeful that she will be good or at least as good as Izzy gets.
Thank you for keeping our girl in your thoughts. I'll end with a couple of pictures from the last couple of days. Izzy has been loving headbands. She's never, ever liked having anything in her hair, but over the last couple of days, Izzy has enjoyed styling her hair herself.
