Going Home with No Answers

Whatever is responsible for the spots on Izzy's legs/arms is most likely viral in nature.

The fear was that it was HSV, particularly nasty as it could have disrupted kidney function.  The appearance of the small blood pockets on her lower arms and legs are characteristic of the infection, but since the spots were not spreading toward her core, an absence of joint swelling, and negative results on Strep are evidence against.

It is the recommendation of Infectious Diseases that izzy be released, but also watched for any further development including the aforementioned symptoms and severe stomach pains - difficult in our case. A follow up with Richards should and will follow.
