It has been 1.5 months and we are still busy making and capturing memories. The kids started summer camp and are loving it. Each week is a different theme and each day a special activity. Izzy's favorite part of summer camp was playing in the tents during camping week. She even got to take a nap inside a tent! Here they are on the first day, then Izzy on Super Hero Day.
Izzy also been soaking up family and doing normal kid things like playing in sprinklers and at the park, eating homemade ice cream, and bouncing.
(Yes, she is wearing rain boots in the sprinkler because her water shoes were left at her aunt's house and she can't walk in grass barefoot.)
We also made it to a small portion of a Tiger's game. It was too hot to stay too long though.
We also had a very special evening, where hospice arranged for us to have family photos taken by the very talented Heather Brown. She was gracious enough to volunteer her time, her talents, and amazing photographs for us. I think you will agree, the results are fabulous. You should check out Heather's work at here and here.
Thank you, Heather, for allowing us to share these wonderful photographs!
For Independence Day weekend, we went to the west side of the state to spend time with Dale's aunt and uncle at their amazing bed and breakfast, Serendipity. Unfortunately, we lost the plug for our camera, so we don't have many pictures from the weekend (hint, hint Aunt June.) We did have a lot of fun though doing things like swimming, riding a Duck boat (amphibious), eating lots of good food, and of course, the fireworks!
We've also dealt with some illnesses along the way. Thankfully, none super bad. Izzy currently has bronchitis. The doc told us this morning that she has to go to the ER if she gets a fever (for fear of pneumonia), but for now, she is okay. He did clear her to attend the Heroes Hurrah tomorrow in celebration of Make-A-Wish Michigan's annual Wish-A-Wish 300 mile bike ride fundraiser. Izzy will be placing medals on bikers and can't wait!
Top of our agenda right now though is filling Team Izzy for the Congenital Heart Walk on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Depot Park in Clarkston. Will you join us? We have a goal of 15 walkers and raising $3000. I promise it will be a great morning! There is food, fun, face painting, and hugs from Izzy (unless she is grumpy like last year). What could be more fun? Follow this link to join Team Izzy!
Finally, I'll end with some final photos from this last month. Note the pink and the winter pajamas Izzy asks to wear every night.
Happy
Summer!
